It's Your Donation That Makes The Difference
The Salvation Army's dedicated staff works tirelessly to serve those in need. But all of their efforts would not be possible if it were not for your caring and concern. Just as the needy rely on The Salvation Army, so The Salvation Army relies on the community to provide the necessary support to continue its many services and programs. We constantly strive to make the best use of your contributions. We trust that you will continue to join with us as we remain committed to meeting human needs in Jamestown and Chautauqua County.

Donate Online
You can now make a donation to The Salvation Army via the internet. All donations are processed through The Salvation Army's secure server to protect your credit card information. An undesignated gift will stay right here in our community, although you may wish to designate the gift for a specific program or relief effort by filling in the specific use field found on donation form. You will receive a receipt for your donation in the mail. God bless you.

Planned Giving Opportunities
Gifts that benefit you, your loved ones and The Salvation Army -- a Planned Gift is one you arrange for legally during your life, but whose principal benefits do not accrue to The Salvation Army until some future time. The form of Planned Gift most widely understood is a bequest by will.

A bequest can take this form:

I give, devise and bequeath to The Salvation Army, a religious and charitable New York nonprofit corporation with its principal offices at 440 West Nyack Road, P.O. Box C-635, West Nyack, N.Y. 10994-1739,
the sum of $ __________ or

_______________________ (description of property)

to be used for the general purpose or specified program of the said organization in the city of Jamestown, New York.

Irrevocable Life Income Opportunities
Legislation by Congress also encourages gift support to The Salvation Army through the transfer of cash property into any of several types of Life Income Agreement opportunities.

These include: Charitable Gift Annuities, Pooled Income Funds, Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts, and Charitable Remainder Unitrusts.

Among the many possible benefits these arrangements make available to the donor are:

  • Guaranteed income, fixed or variable, depending on the type of agreement
  • Income and estate tax benefits
  • Avoid or reduce capital gains taxation on long-term appreciated property
  • Increase spendable income
  • Provide lifelong income to a surviving beneficiary
  • Avoid management worries
For further information on any of the above opportunities, contact Major Richard Best at (716) 664-4108 ext. 224.
